Plain English

What Is Claspt?

A private notebook that lives on your computer.
Write notes. Store passwords. Lock the sensitive parts.
No one else can read them — not even us.

📓

A Notebook

Write anything — meeting notes, project plans, personal thoughts, recipes, travel itineraries. Each page is like a document you can organize into folders.

🔐

With a Lock

Any part of your notes can be locked with encryption. Passwords, credit card numbers, private thoughts — they are scrambled into unreadable text that only you can unlock.

💻

On Your Computer

Everything stays on your device. No cloud storage. No account creation. No sending your data anywhere. If you turn off the internet, Claspt still works perfectly.

What Do People Use It For?

Real examples, no technical language.

🔑

Storing Passwords Safely

Instead of writing passwords on sticky notes or saving them in a text file anyone can open, put them in Claspt. They are locked — you need your master password or fingerprint to see them.

📝

Keeping a Private Journal

Write a daily diary that no one else can read. Not your family, not a company, not a hacker. Your thoughts stay yours. Unlock with your fingerprint or face.

💳

Saving Important Numbers

Credit card numbers, bank account details, insurance policy numbers, tax IDs, Wi-Fi passwords — all in one place, all locked, all organized by folder.

📋

Notes + Secrets Together

A page about your home insurance can have your policy details (readable) and your login credentials (locked) on the same page. No switching between apps.

👨‍💻

Developer Credentials

If you are a developer, store API keys, server passwords, and SSH keys alongside your project documentation. One page per project, secrets encrypted.

📊

Diagrams and Charts

Draw flowcharts, create task boards, write math formulas, and make charts — all by typing simple text. No design tools needed. 15 built-in extras.

How It Works

Four steps. That is it.

1

Download and Open

Install Claspt on your Mac, Windows, or Linux computer. It is a small app — about 5 MB. No account creation needed. No email. No sign-up form.

2

Create a Vault

Choose a master password. This is the one password you need to remember. It unlocks everything. You can also set up fingerprint or face unlock so you rarely need to type it.

3

Write Notes, Add Secrets

Create pages and organize them into folders. Write your notes normally. When you need to store something sensitive (a password, a credit card number), add a "secret block" — it gets locked automatically.

4

That Is It. Seriously.

Your notes are saved as files on your computer. Secrets are locked. Everything is version-tracked (like an automatic backup every time you save). You are done.

Common Questions

Honest answers, no marketing fluff.

Is it really free?

Yes. The desktop app is completely free with no limits — unlimited notes, unlimited passwords, unlimited folders. No trial period. No credit card. If you want to sync across multiple devices (phone, tablet, second computer), there is a paid plan starting at $4/month. But the desktop app is free forever.

What if I forget my master password?

There is no "forgot password" button because we do not have your password. It never leaves your device. This is what makes Claspt secure — but it means you must remember your master password. We recommend writing it down and keeping it somewhere safe (like a physical safe or a trusted family member).

How is this different from Apple Notes or Google Keep?

Apple Notes and Google Keep store your data on their servers. If Apple or Google gets hacked, your notes could be exposed. Claspt keeps everything on your device. Your secrets are encrypted with a lock that only your password can open — even if someone copies your files, they cannot read the locked parts.

Do I need to be technical to use it?

No. If you can type in a text editor, you can use Claspt. Writing notes works like any word processor. Adding a password is as simple as clicking "Add Secret" and filling in the fields. There are power features for developers, but you never need to touch them.

Can I use it on my phone?

The free version is desktop only (Mac, Windows, Linux). With the Pro plan ($4/month), you get Google Drive sync across your desktop devices. iOS and Android apps are coming soon. Your secrets stay encrypted during sync.

What happens if Claspt shuts down?

Your notes are standard text files stored on your computer. If Claspt disappears tomorrow, you can open your notes in any text editor (like Notepad or TextEdit). The locked parts would still need your master password to decrypt, but all your regular notes remain readable forever.
